Umpires Needed for 2018!

Anyone 13 years or older can earn $25 per game!

Updated Saturday February 3, 2018 by Franklin Little League.

Franklin Little League needs adult and youth umpires to call balls and strikes, safes and outs for the Minors and Majors Divisions of baseball and softball.  No prior umpire experience is required -- all that's needed is a love of the game and a desire to learn.

Adults and youths (13 years and older) are welcome to participate in the training required to step onto Franklin Little League's diamonds to umpire these games.  FLL umpires receive $25 per game.

Umpires need to attend six weeks of training -- a course which provides a solid overview of umpiring fundamentals in rules and mechanics -- held Sunday evenings, starting February 18.

All training is held at Zion Lutheran gym, 3600 S. Chicago Avenue, South Milwaukee.

Training dates:

  • Sunday, February 18, 5:30pm - 8:00pm
  • Sunday, February 25, 6:00pm - 8:00pm
  • Sunday, March 4, 6:00pm - 8:00pm
  • Sunday, March 11, 6:00pm - 8:00pm
  • Sunday, March 18, 6:00pm - 8:00pm
  • Sunday, March 25, 5:30pm - 8:00pm

The training is provided by Wisconsin Little League District 6 at no charge, but umpires will need to pay $25 for a T-shirt, hat, indicator, brush, and rule books.  This training opens the door to work games not only with Franklin Little League, but also Oak Creek Little League, South Milwaukee Little League, and elsewhere.

To sign up for the training, or if you have any questions, contact the FLL umpire coordinator Larry Victory at or (414) 305-5802.

The deadline to sign up is February 9, 2018!
